Retro Fish

Wow, man I suck at updating my blog. No worries though, here’s what I’ve been up to lately.
This is a self-shaped surfboard from Finnfoam(polystyrene/epoxy), it’s a stringer less (5″11 x 2″1/2 x 2″ 3/4) retro fish with two keel fins from FCS. Glassed with 1layer of 4oz cloth with epoxy resin. And yes, I screwed up the fin plugs…but who cares, it’s still a test board for me, that most likely will be crashed to the rocks somewhere in the Finnish archipelago.

Haven’t got to test this board yet, but it’s sure interesting board to ride.

My next surf project starts in few weeks as I signed myself to this arts and crafts course in a local wood-workshop. But I’m gonna reveal more about that later.

Finally pulled it off and bought a new camera. This was the first event I put it in test. I gotta say it’s all worth it.

This photo is taken on a christening party of Anna’s and Janne’s baby boy. The first name is great and the second one is even better :)

It’s taken way too long since my last update. I guess this bloggin is not my cup of tea.
Well, anyways, here is a photo from Lapland, taken on the road near Jerisj�rvi on our way to my brother-in-law’s cabin for few days between Christmas and New Year. The sun doesn’t really rise at all there this time of the year, so you get (poor)daylight only for 2-3 hours. Somehow it’s magical.

I’ve been on vacation for a few weeks now, but lazy updating this blog. There’s just so much to do and you don’t want to spend too much time on computer.
Well, here is a sweet snap from our rooftop terrace in Southern California. You don’t see this kind of sun sets in Finland. This place is fantastic.

The weather has been really warm(+25c) lately and my friends invited me to their fishing trip to the beautiful Finnish archipelago. Didn’t get any fish, but I guess it wasn’t really the point. Anyways, took some snap shots, here is Jukka 10min after he woke up this morning. Notice his nicely selected outfit! Just beautiful.

The snow is finally gone here in Southern Finland and since it was a nice and sunny Sunday, me and Saara took a walk around our neighborhood. We found this old water tower on top of a hill. We knew it was there, but never went to see it close.

Cross-Country Madness

Friday was supposed to be cloudy and snowy, but at noon clouds rolled out so we decided to head to Pallastunturi and do a 20km route with cross-country skis. And yes, I don’t do cross-country skiing… Well, me and Turkka were kind of tourists along the way, as Ville was our coach and guide. I regret so much not taking my camera with me, the views were amazing. Bluebird, -2c and no wind. The route went to the top of a smaller hill and it was just one ski-track in the middle of nowhere. You can’t really get closer to the nature. Here is a iPhone snap from the halfway.
